Invincible Season 4: Release Date, Cast, and What to Expect (2025)

Superhero enthusiasts, get ready for a seismic shift in the Invincible universe – Season 4 is officially launching in March 2026, and it's bringing back one of the most menacing villains from the comics, voiced by the talented Lee Pace as the ruthless Viltrumite Thragg. But here's where it gets controversial: this new chapter might force fans to question just how far a hero should go in the name of justice.

Amazon Prime Video dropped the first teaser for the upcoming "Invincible" Season 4 right at New York Comic Con, teasing what's sure to be an explosive continuation of the series. For those new to the show, Invincible follows Mark Grayson, a young superhero grappling with his powers and the moral dilemmas of saving the world – think a mix of Spider-Man and Dragon Ball Z, but with way more blood and guts. Season 3, which hit screens in February 2025, was a massive comeback after a nearly three-year hiatus between the first two seasons (and an unpopular mid-season break in Season 2 that left fans frustrated). It delivered thrilling, ultra-violent action and intricate comic book plots that had everyone talking, earning an early renewal for Season 5 at San Diego Comic Con in July. Oh, and spoiler alert: Matthew Rhys is set to voice a mysterious character in Season 4, adding even more intrigue to the mix.

Season 3 wrapped up with some jaw-dropping cliffhangers for Mark Grayson, played by Steven Yeun. He barely survives the epic Invincible War, where the universe-hopping villain Angstrom Levy – voiced by Sterling K. Brown – assembles an army of alternate-dimension Invincibles to invade Earth. Mark pulls off a heroic save, but not without heavy losses: his friend Rex Splode (Jason Mantzoukas) tragically dies, and several other heroes are left critically injured. And this is the part most people miss – Angstrom Levy escapes by teleporting to another universe, hinting at future threats that could span realities.

As Earth begins to rebuild from the chaos, a deranged Viltrumite named Conquest – voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Yeun's co-star from "The Walking Dead" – lands on the planet to scout for Invincible's planned takeover. For beginners, Viltrumites are a powerful alien race obsessed with conquest and expansion, often clashing with Earth's heroes in brutal, no-holds-barred fights. Conquest and Mark clash in a ferocious battle, with Mark's girlfriend, the brilliant Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), getting caught in the crossfire. Just when it looks like Conquest has delivered a fatal blow to both of them, Eve's unique powers kick in – she can manipulate matter at the atomic level, essentially rebuilding her body from scratch – and she turns the tide, incapacitating the villain. With Conquest defeated, Mark makes a shocking revelation: he's adopting a more aggressive, pro-killing approach to dealing with threats. This shift sparks debate – is it a necessary evolution for a hero facing existential dangers, or does it blur the line between protector and vigilante?

Adding to the tension, an alien Sequid army is quietly amassing (think squid-like invaders from space, perfect for some wild underwater showdowns), government handler Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) is secretly holding Conquest prisoner, the battle-loving Battle Beast is alive and kicking, and the demonic detective Damien Darkblood is conjuring a hellish monster to challenge Invincible. It's a setup ripe for explosive conflicts, blending high-stakes action with deep character development.

Check out the Season 4 teaser below to get a sneak peek at the mayhem.

What do you think about Invincible's pivot toward lethal tactics? Does it make him a stronger hero, or does it risk turning him into the very villains he's fighting? And how do you feel about the show's increasing violence – is it pushing boundaries too far, or is it just honest storytelling? Drop your opinions in the comments; I'd love to hear if you're team 'kill or no kill'!
